Student Spotlight: Meet Carrie Comstock

I have always known that I wanted to work with children with special needs. I began volunteering at Balance 180 Gymnastics and Sports Academy in the Special Olympics Young Athletes Program. I became the first volunteer coordinator and helped to plan the program.

Carrie Comstock, MOT student

Carrie is a UF OT Equal Access Board Member. Local therapists and students offer free OT services to adults in their community. She has presented a paper at the Society of Student Run Free Clinics with 4 of her fellow board members.

During her senior year, she was accepted to the Health Science Honors program. “I have learned much from my work with college students with learning disabilities,” she says, working on Dr. Mann and Dr. Kreider’s research project: Comprehensive Support for Stem Students with Learning Disabilities (CS3LD).
