Graduate MOT Admission
Application Deadlines
- Jan. 15: Summer A start (includes Health Science/pre-OT track applicants)
- Feb. 15: Conditional admission for Fall/Spring Health Science prerequisite enrollment (or until class is full)
Applicants must meet the criteria for admission to the Graduate School. They also must demonstrate a commitment to graduate study, complete all the prerequisites and meet other program specific admission criteria. You will need to complete two applications:
- one to the University of Florida, Office of Graduate Admissions
- one to the Department of Occupational Therapy
On-line University Admission
Apply to the University of Florida Graduate School on-line. Your application must be complete, transcripts and test scores received, and application fee paid to the Office of Graduate Admissions before you can be admitted.
Transcripts: The Office of Graduate Admissions must receive official transcripts from each postsecondary institution you attended. Former UF students do not need to request UF transcripts for Graduate School Admission.
Test Scores: Official GRE test scores must be reported to UF directly by the Educational Testing Service.
International Students: Students, who have graduated from non-US universities or colleges, must submit acceptable evidence of US degree equivalency. Applicants must have transcripts evaluated and translated by an education evaluation service. Please see the following link for referrals to these services: http://www.admissions.ufl.edu/prospectiveinternational.html. International Students must also submit TOEFL scores as instructed on this link. Minimum of 550 on the paper-based or 213 on the computer-based version of the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language).
Department MOT Program Admission
Apply to the Master in Occupational Therapy (MOT) Program using the OT Department Application Packet. Please see the application instructions contained in the packet for more detailed instructions. All components of a completed departmental packet must be received, before the deadline, by the Department of OT Office before you can be considered for admission.
Test Scores: The website for the GRE is: www.gre.org. Official test scores must be reported to the department directly by the Educational Testing Service. The department code for the Department of Occupational Therapy is: 0618. The university code for the University of Florida is: 5812.
Official Transcripts: All applicants, including former UF students, must submit official transcripts from each postsecondary institution attended to the Department of OT.
Letter of Intent: This statement is an opportunity to let the admission committee know why you want to earn the Masters of Occupational Therapy from the University of Florida.
Recommendations: Three recommendations using the OT Department Recommendation Form are required. One (1) of the recommendations must be from a professional OT.
Resume: A professional resume of past and current experiences should be included with the MOT application packet
Observation Experiences: Thirty hours of observation in at least two diverse OT settings is required.

Minimum Application Requirements
- A minimum score of 1000 on the GRE (verbal and math) is recommended, applicants with scores below a 1000 will be considered if GPA sufficiently demonstrates a potential for success in graduate school.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) for upper division (junior and senior level) undergraduate college coursework.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4.0 scale) for all prerequisite courses. No grade lower than a C.
