Linda R. Struckmeyer, PhD, OTR/L
has been elected secretary of the Board of Directors for the American Occupational Therapy Association, or AOTA.
Dr. Struckmeyer is a clinical assistant professor and doctoral capstone coordinator in the department of occupational therapy at the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions. She has more than 30 years of clinical occupational therapy practice working with individuals across the life span in a wide variety of settings. In addition to coordinating the doctoral capstone experience for students in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program, she teaches Occupation Based Practice: Participation and Health courses in both adults and children and youth. Her research focuses on home modifications and aging in place.
AOTA represents more than 230,000 occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and occupational therapy students in the United States and beyond. The Board of Directors is responsible for the strategic direction, budget and operations of the association. Dr. Struckmeyer will officially take office on July 1 and serve through 2025.
