Sergio Romero, PhD
Dr. Romero is a Health Science Specialist at the HSR&D/RR&D Rehabilitation Outcomes Research Center (RORC) Research Enhancement Awards Program (REAP) and an Adjunct Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy. He graduated in 2008 with a PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Florida. His research interest is on clinical and patient reported outcome measures. Specifically, Dr. Romero utilizes modern test theory methodologies to develop, evaluate, and improve clinical/research outcome measures and patient reported outcome measures. He is particularly interested in rehabilitation outcomes in the fields of geriatrics and chronic diseases. He is currently working on a NIH funded research grant to develop and validate a self-efficacy item bank for self-management of chronic medical conditions.
