Breanna Singletary, a recent graduate of the clinical doctoral program of occupational therapy, completed a capstone project to create and implement a quality-of-life assessment tool for The Botes Memory™, a dementia evaluation and treatment platform used by Concierge Home Care.
In this course, the author provides an overview of the doctoral capstone experience and project. Roles of all collaborators are explained. The training focus is on the role of the capstone site mentor and also includes the related paperwork requirements.
Working with students to develop their professional identities as occupational therapists is something that Dr. Linda Struckmeyer, Clinical Assistant Professor, knows a lot about. Having previously worked as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the Masters in Occupational Therapy program, her interest in supporting student learning and professional growth was a natural fit for her position as Capstone Coordinator for the Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) program.
