About Marcia K Schneider
Marcia Schneider, PhD, OTR/L is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Occupational Therapy in the College of Public Health and Health Professions. Dr. Schneider has earned three degrees from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Master of Health Science in Occupational Therapy, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Science. She has over 20 years of pediatric clinical experience specializing in school-based practice with children and youth ranging from age 3 through 22. She serves as a member on both the Florida Department of Education Working with the Experts for OT & PT and the Suwannee Valley Community Coordinated Child Care, Inc. Head Start Health Services Advisory Committees. Her research interests are focused on establishing grip strength procedures and norms in children as well as the relationship between grip strength and children’s health status with a primary emphasis on obesity and the metabolic syndrome.
