Call for Papers

The Occupational Therapy Department at the University of Florida is pleased to announce a Call for Papers for the 4th Annual Sandra Edwards Colloquium, to be held on February 1, 2020 in Gainesville, Florida at the Harrell Building and the College Public Health and Health Professions. Keynote speaker Dr. Sharon Cermak will present a talk “Sensory Adapted Dental Environment for Improving Oral Care for Children with Autism: A Unique Collaboration between Occupational Therapy and Dentistry” on research involving collaboration between occupational therapists and dentists to create a Sensory Adapted Dental Environment for children with autism.

We invite student poster proposals addressing research and/or clinical practice, related broadly to the theme of Environmental Adaptation and Participation.

Key focus areas of interest for presentations include:

  • how best evidence informs best practice
  • the built environment
  • community participation
  • clinician – researcher collaborations
  • transitions across the life span from child to older adult
